The British American Tobacco Poland factory in Augustów is one of 12 factories in the European region. In terms of size, it is the second-largest BAT factory, but it conducts the most complex and comprehensive production. Every week, approximately one billion cigarettes are produced on 40 production lines, reaching consumers in over 50 markets. The factory employs nearly 1500 people, making us the largest employer in Augustów. For the residents, the numbers are not the most important, but the fact that the factory is mentioned as a friendly and stable place to work.

Production
The production department is the heart of the Augustów factory. Our main task is to deliver the finished product to consumers. This area is divided into three sub-areas: PMD (Primary Manufacturing Department), which is the tobacco cutting department, where tobacco is initially processed. The next sub-area is FMD (Filter Manufacturing Department), where finished filters are produced for the factory's own needs and for export. The last sub-area is SMD (Secondary Manufacturing Department), which is the cigarette production department (finished products), where tobacco initially processed in the PMD department and filters produced in the FMD department, combined with other materials, transform into a fully-fledged finished product.
Engineering and Technical Services
We comprehensively ensure the necessary conditions for the continuous and safe operation of the entire factory. Within the department, we can distinguish:
- Facilities - we provide technical support and maintain building infrastructure.
- Project Department - we focus on designing and commissioning production lines, as well as repairing existing production lines.
- Utilities - as a supporting department, we provide necessary utilities and implement projects to improve the factory's energy efficiency and optimize energy consumption.
Product and Quality Assurance
We build a system that ensures the delivery of high-quality products to end markets to maintain the brand value and stability in the eyes of the consumer. As a whole quality team, we develop a culture of continuous improvement in all production areas and seek solutions to optimize processes.
Logistics Department
We coordinate actions to maintain the continuity of the production process. We manage warehouse processes, their optimization, as well as the flow of materials between warehouses and the factory, and between the factory and warehouses. The main task of our team is primarily to integrate ongoing processes with maximum utilization of available resources and optimal allocation of funds and labor.
HR - Human Resources Department
We deal with broadly understood human resource management. We take actions related to the recruitment, retention, and development of employees to ensure the efficient operation of the factory. Every person who wants to join the organization has contact with the employees of this department.

We analyze and develop production plans, which are delivered and implemented by production lines.
